Group Party - Power To The People

Today for our planning on our group party we finally finished our logo, we made our logo using a website because it is easier for us to do it that way. We also have some policies that we started for today. We still need to do our manifesto, leader speech and some of our policies. Next week we just need to finish all of this before we started our election.

Compliments - Wananga

Giving compliments to others is really important and helpful, you can give them a compliments about their looks and about their personalities, but deep compliments is the most important and good compliment. This week we have been learning about this topic. While giving compliments make sure that it is helpful and you will make the person feel really happy and good. We did an activity that can help us to learn how to give a deep compliments to each other.

For this activity the first thing that we did is we make our own piece of art that representing ourselves. Most of us just wrote their name and put some designs on it, some of us draw the things that they love to do and draw themselves. After we finished our design we start to go around into different tables to give a compliments to each other, I manage to give a compliments to all of my classmates and I felt really good after I've done that. While giving a compliments to others I feel really thankful and touched because even though we're not close like my friends they still doing some things that I appreciated.

After I've give a compliments to my classmates I started to read the compliment that they gave to me. Some of them is really good and it makes me feel super proud to myself. I really like all of them because each comments is giving me a happiness some of them makes me surprise because I didn't expect that they appreciate even the small things that I did for them. We also made one for our wananga teacher and I really enjoyed that because that one way so I can say thank to her for being a nice and lovely teacher.

If we are giving compliments to others it is better if we gave them a deep compliments because we can make them fee happy and they will be thankful to us because we appreciated their small help to us. Be thankful that and appreciate the compliments that they give to you and use it to be a better person.

The choice need to be make on your own and not by your family or other people. You need to have 2 doctors that agreed to assists you for your dying. At this point this kind of law is still illegal and once someone do it with you they will be taken by the police because it is murder. People who is under 20 is not allowed to do this act, you will need to be really ill and not just metal issues or anything.

What are some of the negatives and positives?

Women Suffrage Protest

Yesterday we have been learning about different types of protests. We watched some videos that showing the different protests. Sit Ins, riots, disruption and marches are some example of protests, we watched this videos so we can have an idea and to help us to understand it for our last task this term. After we watched all the video we need to choose one topic or protest that we can do a research. All of our choice are the protests that happened in New Zealand. The topic that I decided to do a research is the Women's Suffrage. This protest is about women rights to vote, and how did they get the rights to vote.

  Women's Suffrage

September 19 1893 when New Zealand became the first self - governing country or given the women a right to vote. This protest about the rights for women to vote happened in the late 19th century.protest. Kate Sheppard led the group of women that are protesting. Kate Sheppard realized that having the right to vote would give them a power to campaign for their rights as a woman.

Who was involved?
Almost all of the women in our country went and contributed in this protest with their leader Kate Sheppard. September 19 2013 New Zealand celebrated the 120th anniversary.

Why were they protesting?
The women's suffrage movement happened when women’s right convention was held in Seneca Falls New York. Women began to realize that in order to achieve reform, they needed to win their right to vote.  Kate Sheppard is the most prominent leader of this important

What was the outcome?
This protest lasted almost a decade and it is nearly 100 years before the fight ended. It takes so much time before women get the right to vote and protesting and campaigning is not easy at all. There are a lot of disagreements during that time. After almost a decade they finally get the right to vote.

Refraction through Lenses

Aim: To investigate how different types of lenses refract light.
Equipment:

  • Triple-Slit Ray Slide
  • Power Supply
  • a concave lens
  • a convex lens
Method:
  1. Set up the ray box, triple slit ray slide and power supply.
  2. Place the convex lens in the space below. Place the ray box at the top of the page and shine the three rays of light at the lens. Make sure the central light ray hits at 90 degrees as indicated in the diagram.
  3. Carefully trace the direction of the incoming and refracted rays.
  4. Repeat using the concave lens.

Conclusion:
When light passes through this type of lens, the rays all move away (diverge) from each other. One use of these lenses is in security peepholes in a door so that a person inside a room can see who is at the door without having to open it.

1. The lens described in the paragraph above is a concave lens.

When light passes through this type of lens, the rays all move towards (converge) each other. One use of these lenses is in a camera, to focus the light onto the film or digital sensor. Magnifying glasses also use this type of lens.

2. The lens described in the paragraph above is a
