Photography - Visual Arts

Yesterday for arts we have been spending some time taking some pictures using some toys. We have a dinosaur and soldiers toys. Some of the photos that we take is outside, we use plants for their background so it will look like that it is in the forest. I also analyse my photography and find out what is the focal point, rule of thirds, leading lines and symmetry/asymmetry.

Focal Point -  On my photography you can see that the focus is on the dinosaur so I will say that the focal point is the dinosaur figure.
Leading Line - I can't see any leading lines on the photo.
Symmetry/Asymmetry - For this photography I think there is not symmetry because none of the figure that we used didn't make any reflection or shadows.

Photography - Visual Arts

Last week we have been taking some photos using some of the soldiers figure. We take some pictures outside and inside the building, so we have a lot of different types of photography. After we take some pictures we choose of them and we did a little bit of summary about it. We answer some questions about that photography. We use the emulation matrix that our teacher gave to us to answer some question. Here are some of the photos that we have been taken last week.

This is the summary that I did using the photo that I take.

Subject Matter

Form

Composition

Content/ Meaning

What do you see in the photograph?

I can see the soldier with many pieces of woods around it and in the background.

Is your photograph in black and white or colour?

My photograph is black and white.

How have you used focal points and leading lines?

We used the army as the focal points and some of the wood is the leading lines.

What was your initial reaction to the photograph?

At first I found it cool because the colour saying that this photograph was taken long time ago.

Does the photograph include subject matter you don’t want?

No, because i like this photo so much.

Do your figures stand-out from their surroundings or are they hidden?

The army is not that obvious because the colour of the photo is making it the same colour with the background of this image.

Do you use symmetry or asymmetry? Have you used the Rule of Thirds?

I can't say that we used any of these things in my photography.

Does  your photography appear to be a real scene?

It is showing a war that happened a long time ago.

What were your i-pad camera settings?

We used a filter to make the photography be more realistic.

If you do have unwanted subject matter, how would you change the next reshoot?

I don’t like that there are a lot of woods and it makes the photography confusing so next time i will make the camera higher so there not alot of woods covering the soldier.

What is the direction of the light? Is the light strong or soft? Do you have cast shadows?

The light is soft because we used a different filter so it changes the lighting of the image.

Is there a shallow or deep space represented? Is your camera angle low or high?

We use a low angle to take this photography.

Does the photograph express an idea? Explain

My photography is showing the idea of war after a long time.

Do you use close-ups or distant views?

We used a medium close up in my photography.

Market Day

Yesterday is the day that we have been waiting for, it's the day that we have been selling our own products. We have been preparing for this for almost 2 weeks since we started it on week 7. We have 5 members in our group and we all have a different role.

Skyler - CEO
Janel - Production Manager
Christian - Financial Manager
And me - Marketing Manager

The product that we need to sell are needed to be cultural and sustainability. Our group decided to sell a Filipino dessert called banana cue. This food is made in deep fried banana coated with brown sugar. For presentation we put our product in a wooden boat with banana leaves on it so the banana won't stick. We had a hard time to prepare our container since it  is expensive and it didn't look like what thought it will be.

The other things that we needed it easy to find but we still need to be responsible to spend our budget. We need to ask the exact money that our ingredients cost so we are not allowed to spend a lot of it. After we get the things that we need the money that we spend is 23.40 dollars. Not all the things that we need to on that because we bring that things that we have at home.

We also have a different things that we did during market day, me and christian is in charge of preparing the stall and putting the things that we need outside. We also helped each other to prepare the wooden boat with banana leaves because we need the banana leaves to get heat up and cut it. Janel and Skyler is the one who are doing the Banana Cue. They are preparing this in Home Economics room with the other group that are cooking.

Our products get sold out quite fast because we just have 25 products in total. That's why we sell it for 3 dollars because we are not be able to make a profit if we sell it for 2 dollars. We explained it to the costumer so they won't think that it is expensive. Today we did the last step that we need to do and that is solving, subtracting and adding all the money that we need to take away and to know our profit. After we solved it we know that our profit is 66 dollars. We are happy in this result because we thought that it will be more smaller than it. We enjoyed doing business kete and I am looking forward to do it again.

Tendons - This is the tissues that are attached on you muscle and helps you fingers to be able to move.
Joints - The things that are helping your each bones to be attached and the things that are connecting the bones on you hands.
Bones - In your hands you have 3 smaller bones on your finger and and 2 on your thumb. You also had 5 bones on your palm. On your wrist you have 8 small bones.
Ligaments - This things is connected on your tissue that helping you muscles to make your fingers move.
Muscles - On you hands you just have 2 muscles. You have one on your thumb sides and another one on your pinky side.
Cartilage - This is protecting the ends of your bones so they won't be damage and rubbed on each other.

We also started our task which is doing this demonstration by a paper. We are making a hands that showing that different part of our hands. We used a paper a straw to to it and used a string as a tendons. It will also gonna make our paper hands to be able to move.

Different Aspects of Sustainability

Today we have been talking about different types of sustainability. We have been learning about the definition of each of this topic. This work is showing the definition of each topic and the table below is showing the meaning of Equitable, Viable and bearable definition.

                                                   Three Aspects of sustainability

  • Environmental Sustainability - This is all about using and having the living and natural resources in a right way. It means that we don’t want to have more resources than can be renewed.

  • Social Sustainability - Having the things or resources that we are using right now are still able to be used in the future. Giving the next generation the chance to have the resources that we have now.

  • Economics Sustainability - Using the resources with the rate that ensures the future generation so they can also use these resources.

  • Sustainable Development - This means having the resources that meet the needs of the present without making the future generations know their own needs.

  Definition

                      Meaning

Equitable

Resources are shared and provided equally between social groups.

Bearable

The environment must be used in a way that provides the ongoing economic needs.

Viable

Society’s use of the environment must not be destructive.

Today we have been learning about different things that are covered by environmental sustainability. We have been learning about different definition. Environmental Sustainability is all about different things in environment. Some of these things are nature and tree, and more about environment.

This task is showing the different things that are connected in environmental sustainability. This is also will help us to have an idea for our statistics project with this topic. I also highlighted them base of their definition key. The red is getting worse, orange is about the same and the green is getting better.

We have been doing some research about the topic that we choose for our sustainability subject. We are doing this as a group, we are doing this for almost 2 weeks and today is the last day that we are doing this because we are almost finished the term 3. After we've done our work we can have a free time. This presentation is showing some information about our topic which is " Fish Waste".

                                         Sustainopoly

For the last few weeks of our school days, for our sustainability topic is all about making a project about this topic. So basically, we will spend the rest of our lessons working on this project. Our project is covering the whole topic of sustainability, we are doing our project as a different version of Monopoly. We decided to a game so we can let the other students to play with our game. Our project has a same rules and instruction with a monopoly. The only difference is the information with it is connected to the sustainability. We just copy the designs from the original game and just change the information form each of them. Our own version of monopoly is called "Sustainopoly". Also for our figurine icons we have different things that is all about sustainopoly.
  • Water droplet
  • Tree
  • Paw
  • Heart
We also have a different color for our cards, some of these cards is related to each topic that is on them. In the card you will see the amount of points that you can get every time that you are doing the activity on the card. The maximum players for our game is 4  people. We also have some unsustainable cards. In this card you will see that unsustainable activities and the amount of points that we will loose. In this game the person who have the highest points is the winner. I hope you will enjoy playing our game.

Language of Film Techniques

Yesterday we have been learning about different types and shots of a photo. We have two different choices to show our learning. We can create a visual dictionary or take a photo showing the different techniques and shots. To show my learning I choose to present it by taking a photo for each different shots. I did this with my two other friends so we just need to use one phone. For this task we need to divide the different techniques into 3 categories. My blog is showing the photo that we had taken and the meaning/example of each different shots.

What am I learning? We have been learning about different camera angles and techniques that are using in the film.

How does this work show my learning? My work shows that I know the definition of it and the examples of different camera shots and angles.

What Am I wondering as a result of this learning? I am wondering what kind camera angle/shots/movements are common?
