1347 Europe - Social Studies

For social studies, our topic for this task is all about life in medieval days. Some part of this task all about reading some story to give us an idea for the work that we need to do for this task. I know some of you is curious so I will put the picture of it so you can read it if you guys are interested.

After I read this it gave a me an idea for my task. The task that we need to do is to draw base on our imagination what do we think is the life before in 1347, I'm quite nervous to do it since I am not good at drawing at all, also for our drawing we need to include some houses, and strips of land giving our drawing a title. This is the drawing that I made.

We have two activities that we need to do and both of them is about drawing, the other one that we need to do is draw a cleric. Cleric is a religious official or member of a clergy. It can be priest and it can also be holy warrior. This is my drawing.

Business Studies - Creating Money

I think probably all of know that our school is in lock down for more than a week because of the problem that is happening to our country, but that doesn't mean that we don't have some work to do while we are staying at home. The task that our teacher gave us for business studies is about money since our topic for this subject is all about money. We are going to do our own money, I really like this because it will help me a lot to know more about money.
  • Generally accepted
  • Durable
  • Divisible
  • Stable
  • Transportable
  • Scarce
  • Easily recognizable
  • Difficult to counterfeit

The money that I make is made out of polymer so when you accidentally got wet or you drop into the water the money will just be the same. Also I decided that the color of my money will be the same of the real 50 dollars money so I don't have to make more work. Mt. Cook and the riroriro bird is the thing that I out to my money because probably all of us knows about this two so I want to make a money that some people knows every detail on it.

Business Study

Today for our business study we were talking about money. We have our choice if we want to do a mind map of a t-chart. I decided to do a t-chart since I am not familiar in mind map. Also I choose to do  a T-chart because  it's easy and we just have an hour so I did this so I will able to finish. Also we have to write to three or two sentences what we have learnt for today.

Money is an item than you can use to buy some things and an item that you were able to exchange to something. Also money is something that you can traid to somethings, for example if you want to buy something, they will give it to and you will give you money. Money is really important because they can do a lot and they can help us.

Rats/Mice - Social Studies

Today I finished one of our social studies activity we watched a short clip about rats/mice, after watching the clip we answer some question base on the clip that we watched. Some part of the video makes me uncomfortable because some part of the clip shows a lot of rats and mice. But anyways this is the task that I did for this activity.

Questions
  1. Where this happen?
At a farm
  1. How did this happen?
Rats started to because they are one of the most active animals and because of the rain flood the rats went to the farm and the number of them started to increase.
  1. How much offspring (Babies) can 2 mice parents make?
2,000 babies in a matter of months.
  1. How much wheat did the mice eat?
500,00 tons of wheat.
  1. How did they get rid of the mice and how many dead mice were there?
They used a lot of poison and it’s started to spread on the air and 100 million of mice died within just a few days.

Questions
  1. Where is this happening?
One of a temple in Northern India.
  1. Why is this happening?
The people there believe that when they died they will become rats, and believing that rats is their god,
  1. What special treatment do the rats get? They treat the rats like a celebrity. Also when they needed or wanted to come inside they must remove their shoe to prevent them to squish or kill the rats.

Chromatography Experiment

Aim: To separate the different pigments using from the ink.
Hypothesis: I think when the water reach the ink it will starting to go up and the ink will start to fade.
Method :

  1. Put 50 Ml of water on the beaker and make sure that its exactly 50 ml.
  2. Put a dot on the bottom of the filter paper. Put it in center.
  3. After you put the dot put the filter paper into the water but make sure only the edge of it is on the water.
  4. Fold the top of the filter paper to avoid the chances that the filter paper will fall into the water.
  5. Leave it for a couple of minutes and start to observe the process.
Result:
The first time that we try I used the color pink but when we needed to take it out into the water I notice that nothing change from it. The color didn't change at all instead the color just go up and started to fade.
For the second one the teacher said that we need to use color black instead of any other colors, this experiment is more better that the first one because I can see different colors.

Discussion: I think the second experiment is more better than the first one because we can see more different colors than the first one. The first one we can just see one color and the same color but the second one shows a lot of different colors. I think that it because we use a dark color and for the first one we use a brights color. I really enjoy this experiment and I love to do more.

Evaporation Experiment

                      Separating a Mixture using Evaporation

Aim: We are trying to separate the mixture so it will end up on something solid and without liquid on it.
Hypothesis: I think after this experiment the liquid on the mixture will evaporate.
Equipment: Copper sulfate solution, 250mL Beaker, heat proof mat, evaporating basin, element.
Method:
Set up element
  1. Add 50mL of hot water to the beaker and place on the element.

  1. Add copper sulfate to the evaporating basin until it is quarter full.

  1. Carefully, place the evaporating basin on top of the beaker.

  1. Turn on the element to 8

  1. Heat the solution until most of the solvent has been evaporated and crystals of solute are forming.

  1. Turn off the element- careful not to touch it as it will be hot for a long time.

  1. Turn off the heat - careful not to touch the equipment as it will be hot for a long time.

Observations:  Once we put our mixture on the stove and the water starter to boil the sulfate started to smell weird and the copper sulfate was slowly turning into crystals and there was also steam.

Conclusion: In the end of the experiment the small part of the copper sulfate that we used turned to a solid and water started to evaporate.

Discussion: The purpose of this experiment is to evaporate the water and to observe if the copper sulfate will turn into crystals.

Evaluation: I think our experiment worked but for me it's better if we observe it more, since we didn't observe it that much because we are running out of time we probably miss some of the process that is happening while the water is boiling and how the copper sulfate turns into crystals.

Business Studies - Kiwi Ingenuity

Today for our business study we are answering and thinking some things about kiwi ingenuity and how this helps in our country. "How does kiwi ingenuity benefit?" is the question that we need to answer. This topic is really interesting because it really helps me since I don't really know so much about kiwi ingenuity. Also for this lesson we talked about different ways to say the wealthiness of a country. We did this task on doc since we just need to answer it.

It helps the country to be wealthier and before. Kiwi ingenuity is an idea that New Zealander is good at solving different problems. It will help our not just country but also the New Zealander  to be more popular around the world because of our own knowledge about coming up with a solution to a problem and how we think. Lastly it will help the products that are made from New Zealand so the people in the other country will buy it and try it.

Health - Mental and Emotional Wellbeing

For our task this week in health we need to do a blogpost, this blogpost need to have some agencies that helping the teenager with their mental issues also we have to explain what kind of service they are doing to help, and how their service will help us for our mental issues and lastly we need to list 3 people from HHS that we think we can go if they needed support.

Agencies could support people with mental health issues.

Mental Health Education & Resource Center is one of the agencies that can help some people with their mental issues. This agency is doing some ways to help people with mental issues, they are providing free libraries containing books, dvd's or Cd's for the people who are depressed, stress, parenting and addictions.

Mental Health Advocacy And Peer Support This agency is helping the people that have a problem with their mental health and helping the people that have mental distress.

Image result for mental issuesI know that asking for help is not that easy because you need to have a courage but remember you need to help yourself before the others help you. These agencies that I listed can help you a lot because they can make you feel better, having a mental issues can put you in danger, you can commit a suicide or being depress. You can ask for help to these agencies to help you and to help you to prevent doing some things that can be dangerous for you. If you have a mental issues you don't have to keep to yourself and ask for help. These can't just affect your mental and emotional well being but also the other dimension of well being.

Business Studies - Improving Products

For our business studies we did a new task, this task is about trying to improve and if you can change something that you wanted to improve to any product that you think will help you. We did this task as a group, we have to think of some product that we are using everyday that needed to be improve to get the work done easily. This product that we decided to improve is really gonna help us because this things are the things that we used everyday.

Image result for charger adaptor" THE REAL UNIVERSAL ADAPTOR"
Charger adaptor, this is the first product that we can think, we decided to improve it because this problem is really common for us especially when we have a lot of gadgets. We all know that having a different angle of a socket can cause a simple problem for us. For example if we went to other places and the socket and your adaptor is not the same we are not able to use it. So we decided that we can improve it by making it adjustable, so if you are in this situation you can just easily move it so it will fit on the socket and you don't have to buy a different types of a adaptor.

"BIOLIZER"
Also we think that it's better if we have product that we can use for our left over food, organics or for our food that already expired. This problem already has a solution but we thinks that it will be better if the food will be fertilize. We called this product a biodegradable bin, we decided to put this product near in the sink so you it will be more easier for you to put it on it. This product is also helping to turns all the organic products to a fertilizer.

Evaluation Ideas - Kiwi Ingenuity

                         Most Benefit

I think the most helpful and the most benefit in the slide waterfalls because this idea is really helpful and good for the people that always passing on that road, because if they didn't did this idea and this slide this is probably really dangerous, especially we have a lot of water falls at the mountain here in New Zealand so I think this idea is really helpful for us

                        Least Benefit

This idea is the least benefit for me because the idea is really confusing and for me this idea is just making it complicated. We can use a different equipment to spread the butter into the bread, this problem don't have to make it big issue because we can make a simple solution for this. We can use butter knife or even spoon to spread the butter.

This idea is really clever because a lot of people likes using this types of slipper so I think they will like this idea. Also this idea is helping you to know how to fix you slipper in simple way.

Image result for Kiwi Ingenuity

I think this idea will help a lot people because some houses need this to trim their plants because not all of the plants is short and we can reach them so i think this is a good idea.
