Orana Park Visit

Yesterday we go to Orana Park for our field trip this year. This is not the first time that I am going to Orana park but this is my first time going there with my class and the other class. At first the staff in Orana Park tell us the rules that we need to do and the rules that we don't have to do inside the Orana Park. Before we went inside the Orana Park our teacher gave us a number so we can have 4 groups.

First thing we did is we ate before our educator show the park to us. While eating some of the students is taking some picture using their phone. We are allowed to use our phone but just to take some pictures. After we ate, our teacher start to split us into group of 4 based on the number that we have. I am in group 4 and we have one educator. Before we go by group Elizabeth is one of the educator that we have, she said the each animals that we are going to see the educator that we have is going to explain how climate change can affect them after some discussing we start to go around the park and start to see some different animals.

First animal that we saw is Kea, this is one of the popular bird in NZ. Climate can affect them because their living only on the south island and if the earth is getting hotter the ice will melt and it will be dangerous for them. We also saw a different types of birds like kiwi, ostrich and emu, we also saw some different animals like tuatara and tiger. We also go to see the lions but they are sleeping when we go there. Before lunch we also have a chance to feed a giraffe. If you are feeding the giraffe you need to hold the plant really tight because they have a strong tongue and if you didn't hold it properly they will eat the whole plant but the bottom part of the their food can hurt their mouth so you need to be serious if you are feeding them.

After that we start to walk to the place so we can have our lunch, we also have sometime to rest before we go around the park again. After our break we start to go around again and we saw different type of monkeys, Rhinos, water buffalo, cheetah and the Africa wild dog.

I really enjoy it because I learn something new that I didn't know before and of course is saw some different animals that I didn't saw before and I don't know before.  And I love it because it taught me some new things like how the climate change affect the other animals.

Music Suite Visit

On week 8 my class and the other class have a chance to go to the music room in our school. We are all exciter because we got a chance to play and learn how to play the different instrument and we really enjoy it. Our teacher divide us into 2 group so we don't have to go there as a big group. The first group is with Mrs: Allan Fletcher on period three and they go to music room to have some time there, and other which is my group go to the music room on period 4. Once we got here we meet Mrs: Beer she in one of the teacher on the music room. The first activity we did a quiz, for this quiz the number of the correct answers that we have is also the number of the stomp that we are gonna get once we've the quiz. We need to give it to Mrs: Beer our paper so she can check it for us and she is also the one that giving us some stomp.

While doing this quiz this is also the chance that we can play some different instrument, first I played the keyboard each keyboard already have a headphones there. It also have the instruction for the song 'Havana' if you follow the notes you will learn how to play it. Also at the other practice rooms we saw some of the different types of drums and guitar. I tried to play some of them and I really enjoy it because I have a chance to try some new things and try some of the different types of instrument that I don't have a chance play before. Composing Song - 'Shadow'

For our music we did a interesting and nice task. Our teacher said that we need to compose or make our own song and make our own lyrics. On this activity we can picked what genre that we want to use for our song and what lyrics we want to write for our lyrics, also while doing this we can have a inspiration that we want to use so we can think easily about the lyrics base on our inspiration. Our lyrics that we made has to have a 2 verses and 1 chorus. While doing this lyrics at first I don't have any idea what lyrics I should right but I use my inspiration so I can have some idea that I can use for my lyrics. My inspiration is 'Depression' I picked this inspiration because I can relate and I use my feelings while I'm depressed to write a lyrics. This is my lyrics.

I really enjoy this task because I learn something new and now I know what do I need to do first before I write a song and the steps to have a nice lyrics for my songs. I hope you enjoy reading the lyrics that I made.

Twenty-five words poem

Today our teachers gave us a task and this task is kinda hard because you need to make a twenty-five poem, this poem is a type of poem that you need to make a poem using the 25 words that they gave you. This will take some time because while doing this poem you can't add any other words and you can only use the 25 poem. This is the words that we need to use for our poem.

Ki O Rahi

For this hurumanu our teacher thought us how to play Ki o Rahi, this is one of the Maori games. While playing this game some of us are doing research about it, we need to know the rules, equipment and the history. It is  the first time that we are playing this game some of us are confused because it's our first time playing this game and some of us already played it before. The research helps us to know more about Ki O Rahi, because it helps us to know about the story behind this game and helps us know the rules. I did a slide presentation to show my research and I will post it to my blog.

Stationery Recycle

For our community impact project we watched a short clip that showing us some ways to recycle some stationery. This group are called terracycle. We did a DLO so we can spread this project to our school and so we can earn many pens and markers that not working and we want to recycle. We are gonna post this DLO to our blog and our teacher will post it to the t.v on our school so the other students and the staff can know about our project. If the other students knows about this project I'm sure that we can earn so many, I think we can earn  5 kgs of pens and we can get a enough money to use to other activities for our community impact project. Even if you are not going to school you also can help us to earn some pens in you house and you can bring it here so we can give it to terracycle and they can recycle them for us. We use the money that we get from this project for our other activities or for other project that we are planning for our community impact project, we can also use this money to donate to the charity so we can help the others . Poutini and Waitaiki

Yesterday for our Maori class our teacher read a story to us and after that he said that we need to write and retell the story using our own words, we also need to imagine that we are one of the character to the story. I picked to be Waitaiki because she is the wife on the story. Also today we just continue our work because we didn't finish all of them. This is my work and my point of view as Waitaiki, and I also put some pictures about the story.

 I go to the river and I start to remove my clothes before I go to the water, I was enjoying the warm water hitting my skin. While I’m swimming and enjoy the warm water hitting my body I decided to got up from the water and  I feel the cold air hitting my skin. After I got up from the water I saw beautiful scenery. Suddenly I feel my heart starts to pound and i got nervous and confused, suddenly i feel someone took me and everything becomes black.

After awhile I woke up in an unfamiliar place, and I was so scared because I don't know why I am here and also because i remember my husband and my family that I left to our place. 

Waitaiki! I heard someone shouting my name behind, as I turned around to the person I saw a light and I screamed and I feel my body becomes warm and I can’t move my whole body and I just realise that I'm turning into a stone slowly and at the end I become a real greenstone.

Today for our music hurumanu we just continue doing our slides that have some popular songs ans popular genres. I did a slide to show my work and i also put the video of the popular music and popular genre on my slide.
