Creative Writing - Social Studies

For social studies we have to write a creative writing about black death. This creative writing is about being a plague doctor back then and the things that you are doing everyday if you are a plague doctor. While doing this creative writing I realise that being a plague doctor is not an easy job at all because it's quite dangerous even though you have a lot of equipment and gear that will protect you to the disease that doesn't mean that you are always safe because you are helping a lot of infected people everyday. Anyways this is my work a I hope you will like it and enjoy reading it. I will also put some photos.

           

Here I am walking to go to the other patient, having a lot of emotions. What if they can’t survive? What if I can’t help them? A lot of questions are coming through my mind. Being a doctor and trying to save the life of many people that are already infected with this disease is not easy at all. All of us are not sure if they can survive or not, but me? I am doing all that I can to help them because that’s my job. I’m lost in my thoughts and I didn’t notice that I am already in front of the house of my patient. “ Come in,” the lady said, walking towards the room of the patient. I can see the sadness, nervousness in the lady’s eyes. Before going inside I turned around to the lady and said “ Don’t worry I will do my best to help your husband” feeling a little bit better when I saw her smile at me. 

I start to ready my equipment  and I see the lady and her husband talking while smiling to each other. That scene made me more nervous because if I can't help him it’s like I also took the lady’s happiness but shook the thought and started to walk towards them to do my job. While doing my work I can hear the sobs that are coming from the lady while the patient is groaning in pain. After a while I am done to do my job and told the patient to sit close to the fire because it will help to cure your fever. After a few minutes I decided to leave to go to the other patients house. I was about to step out in the house but stopped and look back and saw the lady helping her husband to lay on the bed to get some rest. I smiled to myself because I helped him and turned around and started to walk to go to the other patient. I am not feeling nervous too much because I know that I can help them because this is my job.

Plague Doctor's Gear And Equipment

For social studies I've learnt the cures and the causes of the plague. After I finished that task and post it to my blog I start to do the other task that I need to work on. This lesson is about the equipment and the purpose of it. Plague doctors are really important back then because they helping a lot and they have a lot equipment that they can use to heal the patients. For our activity about this topic we need to make a poster, we can use make it online and we can also draw, I decided to do it online since it's more easier. This is were I get my ideas for my poster.

Causes and cure of black death

Today I did a new work for social studies and the topic is also about black death. This topic is about what is the causes of black death and some ways that saying how to cure someone that has the disease. I've learnt so much things about this topic since I'm not really familiar about black death. We also have to make a mind map showing the cause of black death and presentation showing the cures for this disease. I used a google drawing for my mind map and I used Piktochart for the infographic about the cures.

While doing this infographic I though that we are really luck because we using some medicines that we can help us to feel better. The medicine that we are using right now is have a big difference compare to their medicines. This is the presentation that I did.

Social Studies

Today I've learnt another topic about black death, the topic for this task is the symptoms of the Black Death. I use the example that my teacher gave to us to make my own one. I also copied that details from it and I used "Piktochart" to make my own poster. There is 5 symptoms in my poster and each one of them is giving u some information how this disease can affect to our body and how our body react o different symptoms.

How Rats and Fleas Spread the Black Death

Today, I've learnt how the black death spread easily and how it easily passed on from one person to one another. We all know that the people back then has a poor hygiene but that's not only the reason why the black death spread to so many people, rats and fleas is also one of the reason. It is better if we know something about the things that happen back then so we can have a information and it is better that we know somethings that we should do at the times like this.

The rats is very infectious. Their wait can be up to 430 grams. They are eating almost anything that is edible. Black rats and the brown rats are to most common rats. They are heavy breeders.	Weight about 200 grams. They also called as roof rat and climbing rats. Rattus, Rodent	They can live for a months without food. They also called sewer or wharf rats. You can us a poison, gas traps to kill them.	They can jump 30,000 times without stopping. They are less infectious. Feed on the blood of a host.

Explanation - They can easily pass it to each other since the hygiene back then is really poor and there is a lot of rats everywhere. The rats is carrying the bacteria and once the flea bite the rat the bacteria will start to multiply on the flea and if the flea bites the human the bacteria will start to grow on the humans body and they will start to have some symptoms like coughing blood, and if the infected human pass it to you there is a possibility that you can due by the end of the week. 

How the Black Death went fro Asia to Europe?

Today I finished another task from our social studies, this task is all about black death because this is our topic of this term. We are still working at home and there are still no classes. For this task we need to make a cartoon strip about how the disease spread from Asia to Europe.

For these tasks I've learnt some facts about Black Death and how this disease spread from Asia to Europe. For me I think the disease is easy to spread because the people back have very poor hygiene and we all know that proper hygiene is really important. They can't do a lot of things that we can do right now even bathing. We are all lucky because we can take a shower every time we want but they can't do it even 2 times a month. So we should be thankful and take care of our body to avoid any disease and stay healthy.

We also have to make a poster about different ways of hygiene before. We can use a paper or on an online site called canva. Like I said they have poor hygiene. We just need to choose one topic and I decided to choose this;

1347 Europe - Social Studies

For social studies, our topic for this task is all about life in medieval days. Some part of this task all about reading some story to give us an idea for the work that we need to do for this task. I know some of you is curious so I will put the picture of it so you can read it if you guys are interested. 

After I read this it gave a me an idea for my task. The task that we need to do is to draw base on our imagination what do we think is the life before in 1347, I'm quite nervous to do it since I am not good at drawing at all, also for our drawing we need to include some houses, and strips of land giving our drawing a title. This is the drawing that I made.

We have two activities that we need to do and both of them is about drawing, the other one that we need to do is draw a cleric. Cleric is a religious official or member of a clergy. It can be priest and it can also be holy warrior. This is my drawing.

August 24th 79  A.D

Mount Vesuvius Eruption

WHAT HAPPENED………. On 24th of August the Mount of Vesuvius erupted  in the city of Pompeii. For three day and nights this eruption almost killed everyone in the city. After this eruption the city of Pompeii was lost and forgotten for almost 17,000 years. Only some of the city is able to survive and escape because of the eruption and the rest of them died because of this incident. This incident affected a lot of life in the city of pompeii. There are so many lives that waste because of this massive eruption. And the city of Pompeii was forgotten and almost can’t recognize after this eruption and the people there became more scared and decided to leave the city for their own sake.

Rats/Mice - Social Studies

Today I finished one of our social studies activity we watched a short clip about rats/mice, after watching the clip we answer some question base on the clip that we watched. Some part of the video makes me uncomfortable because some part of the clip shows a lot of rats and mice. But anyways this is the task that I did for this activity.

2. How did this happen?

Rats started to because they are one of the most active animals and because of the rain flood the rats went to the farm and the number of them started to increase.

3. How much offspring (Babies) can 2 mice parents make?

2,000 babies in a matter of months.

4. How much wheat did the mice eat?

500,00 tons of wheat.

5. How did they get rid of the mice and how many dead mice were there?

They used a lot of poison and it’s started to spread on the air and 100 million of mice died within just a few days.

1. Where is this happening? 

One of a temple in Northern India.

2. Why is this happening? 

The people there believe that when they died they will become rats, and believing that rats is their god,

3. What special treatment do the rats get? They treat the rats like a celebrity. Also when they needed or wanted to come inside they must remove their shoe to prevent them to squish or kill the rats.  

World's Tallest Tsunami

For our social studies we are doing different task, this task is all about different topics. For this task I decided to do a graph about the world's tallest tsunami. I decided to do this one because this is not gonna take a lot of time to do, since we need to post it on our blog. I already did a lot of work using the different topics. But there are some of the remaining task that I still need to finish. I used a bar graph to represent the different heights of different building and tower. This is the graph that I made.

9/11 Timeline

For our social studies we did different task. For the first one we did the zombie apocalypse and for this task we did a timeline, we did a timeline about 9/11 history. We use a app called visme to make this timeline and to make it easier for us. We need to post our work to our blog by putting a link or screenshot of it. After doing this task we all need to do another topic and another task.

Zombie Apocalypse

Last week we discussed about zombie apocalypse and some rules that w can do to survive to it. We also do some activities about this topic. We have a choice of what task we want to do, I decided to do the task that we need to pick the 10 best rules for us and make a poster about it. I picked the rules that I think will help me a lot and useful to survive in a zombie apocalypse.
