Heart Dissection - Science Hurumanu

This week for our science hurumanu we are dissecting a pig's heart. We did this because so we can identify the different part of a heart. For this week we have been learning about the different part of the heart and the function of it. While dissecting the heart we seen 4 different parts of the heart.

What have we been learning about?

We have been leaning about the different parts of the heart and how it is working and helping our body. Heart is important because it helping us to keep alive. Also hear is helping to pumps our blood all over our body. It also helps to pump oxygen. Being able to identify the different parts of the heart is really important. Because we have been leaning about this we did a hear dissection.

Why are we dissecting heart?
We are dissecting a heart to we can see what it actually looks like and to see the different part of it. Being able to identify the different part of the heart using the real example of it.

What are the parts of the heart? Did you see them? This is the part of the heart that we have been learning about. The other heart that we used for this experiment doesn't have the tube in it and the atrium but the heart that our group has has the atrium.

Parts Of The Heart
  • Atrium - This is the top part of the heart and the one of is receiving the blood.
  • Ventricle - This is the one who is pumping the blood away from the body.
  • Valves - The function of this part is to move the blood all over our body.
  • Pulmonary Artery - This the part of our heart that pumping the oxygen to our lungs.
Did you enjoy the dissection? Why/why not?
I enjoyed dissecting a heart because it helps me to see where is the places of the different parts and helping to understand how it actually working and what how does the different part of the heart helping each other. I am looking forward to this ind of dissecting again.
