Significance of WW1 - The last Post

In social studies, we started our new topic about Anzac day. I know some of you didn't know what really happened in that time, so in this post I will be talking about different facts and different things that happened during world war 1. We also add this on the map that we have been doing in this class. We put some detail in our map to show how the war happened and how the New Zealand and Australian Corps get involved.

What is ANZAC?

ANZAC meaning is Australia and New Zealand Corps. We are celebrating this day as a public holiday as a remembrance for those people who got involved and killed in that war. If you didn't know what war I was talking about, it is the world war 1. Some people called it " The Great War" Australia and New Zealand Armies got involved in to this war. A lot of them lose their lives so it is important to celebrate the ANZAC day to respect their sacrifices.

Anzac is one of the most important holiday that we have, not just here in New Zealand but also in the countries who have a contribution on the war. One of the thing that is important if we are celebrating it is the song. We used a song in a ceremony in ANZAC day. I will be analyzing this song one song that we have been using to celebrate the ANZAC day.

When do you hear this song?
This song can heard in public ceremony as a remembrance of those people who died in war. Australia and New Zealand are using this song on the ceremony of Anzac day. It also can be heard while doing or after the minutes of silence.

  1. Hello Shiela,
Your blog post is very fun to read and very detailed. I like how you explained what ANZAC was, and what ANZAC stands for. You answered all of the questions with a lot of good information. However, I think that you should have put the map that you were working on with the blog post, since it is related to this topic. Although, it is still a really good blog post to read, keep up the good work!

  2. Kumusta Shiela,
This blog post that you have made is well presented and contains a lot of details. I like it how you explained what the ANZAC means and what they have done for our country. This blog post would've been a bit better if you linked the map that you have made. All together, this blog post was well made.
    Well done!
